STEM Teacher Inspiration
The STEM Teacher Inspiration programme aims to support Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 mathematics and science teachers who are committed to enhancing mathematical links across STEM subjects within their school, and nurturing confident, resourceful and enthusiastic learners with a deeper understanding of the fundamental links between mathematics, science and technology.
This 3-day programme will be run across the 2011 / 12 academic year, with the three sessions taking place on:
- 30 September 2011
- 19 March 2012
- 22 June 2012
Delegates are expected to attend each of the three days.
Pairs of teachers from different STEM departments within the same school (e.g. Maths teacher and Science teacher; or Maths teacher and technology teacher) are encouraged to attend together.
The programme will be delivered by the NRICH team at the University of Cambridge; in parallel, NRICH are developing KS3, 4 and 5 resources focussing on natural mathematical links throughout STEM subjects; hence why pairs of teachers are encouraged to attend.
The days will feature a mixture of plenary sessions and intensive hands-on workshops.
Venue: Centre for Mathematical Sciences, University of Cambridge.
