Open source e-Assessment in STEM workshop
Nationwide, England (Yorkshire & the Humber)
14.03.2012
The purpose of this workshop is as follows: to promote the concept and use of open source e-Assessment in the STEM subjects; to compare and to share current approaches; to address pedagogic issues of using e-Assessment for both formative and summative work. The aim is to train proactively and to guide HE staff regarding a range of issues pertinent to enhancing student knowledge, progression and skills through improved course delivery and design.
The event will offer considerable scope for group discussions and for interactions between participants; in particular, the afternoon sessions will have a practical focus in which participants will be able to try out different types of assessments/question types, and they will have the opportunity to set up assessments and to design simple questions. Examples of particular case studies on different e-Assessment formats will be available to view during coffee and lunch breaks. Participants are welcome to bring to the workshop materials that illustrate their own experience in using e-Assessment, and to share these materials with other attendees.
Attendance at the Workshop is FREE, and lunch and refreshments will be provided. Please ensure you book early as places are limited!
