Plan it and Assess it

Do you want to modernise D&T in your school?
Do you want to give your pupils exciting challenges that prepare them better for GCSE and beyond?
Do you want to be fully confident that you’re covering all aspects of programmes of study?
The Design and Technology Association's ‘Plan It and Assess It’ course for D&T subject leaders and teachers can help you to achieve these goals by providing support, advice and practical resources.
During this one day course, delegates will work collaboratively to design and populate a new scheme of work with exciting activities drawn from a combination of existing departmental activities and new ones introduced by the presenters, using the Curriculum Development Matrix (CDM) – a planning tool which has been developed by two experienced D&T subject leaders and members of the D&T Association's Innovation Group, Steve Parkinson and Manjinder Sangha.
The day will focus on:
- coverage of the KS3 programmes of study and revitalising the designing and making experience provided for all pupils;
- approaches to assessment of pupils, its purpose and ways in which assessment techniques can be used in both formative and summative ways to enhance learning.
Reference will be made to resources being developed by the D&T Association.
Cost (including free Curriculum Development Matrix):
Members: £240
Non-Members: £312 (includes D&T Association membership)
