England (London)

13.03.2012

VENUE: Central London
This event is CPD Certified
This seminar will be an opportunity to consider the makeup of the new Science curriculum, due to be implemented in schools from September 2014. Bringing together key policymakers with other stakeholders, it will enable delegates to discuss the content of the new curriculum for each Key Stage and what is needed to ensure it meets the needs of colleges, universities and employers.

Delegates will discuss wider issues in science education, including the challenges of maintaining science resources in a period of financial constraint and increasing both the number of schools able to provide instruction in three sciences at GCSE and A-level, and the uptake of science subjects at GCSE, Further and Higher Education levels.
Guests of Honour: Sir Mark Walport, Director, Wellcome Trust; Andrew Miller MP, Chairman, Science and Technology Select Committee; Professor the Lord Winston, Professor of Science and Society, Imperial College London and a senior representative, Department for Education
