Setting-up extra-curricular, student-led, employer-focused activities workshop
England (East Midlands)
28.06.2011
2.00pm - 3.30pm
The ‘Setting-up extra-curricular, student-led, employer-focused activities’ workshop is timed to coincide with Loughborough’s first one-day student-led symposium that is showcasing current student-led activities. Student-led activities are initiatives that students start-up and manage by themselves; ideally these activities are related to their degree programme.
This staff-focused workshop will give an overview of student-led projects already being undertaken at Imperial College London and Loughborough University. The following areas will be explored:
- setting up and impact of activities
- benefits of staff involvement
- initial funding and sustainability
- difficulties that may be encountered
It will likely be of benefit to staff who may wish to set up a similar initiative at their own institution. Guidelines for setting up activities will be provided and follow-on support will also be available.
This event is free to attend but spaces are limited. Attendees are also encouraged to attend the student symposium in the morning. For further details specifically about the student symposium please contact: Glynis Perkin.
Venue: Keith Green Building, Loughborough University.
