Westminster Education Forum Keynote Seminar - Reform of Initial Teacher Training: new Teachers’ Standards and the role of teaching schools

Bringing together key policymakers with stakeholders in schools, universities, college teacher training providers and teaching unions, discussion will focus on funding for trainee teachers, including the new bursaries for shortage and specialist subjects, the new minimum standards for teachers and the role of Ofsted in assessing quality of teacher training provision, as well as how to encourage top graduates into teaching. Sessions will also cover the introduction of Teaching Schools and the future role of university or college-based ITT.
