Institute of Physics report - The Career Paths of Physics Graduates

In 2005, the Institute of Physics commissioned a five-year longitudinal study of physics graduates to identify and track the career development of physicists over the first four years following graduation. This report gives authoritative data for the first time on the paths physics graduates have taken as they started out on their careers.

This information is relevant to university physics departments, careers advisors, schools and all those who wish to give potential students guidance on the choices they make about their future in physics. It also reassures current physics undergraduates of the value of their physics degree and highlights the many and varied places it can take them.
