Job opportunity - ESERO Manager

UK-ESERO Manager

0.6 - 0.8 FTE

Salary: Up to £50,000 (pro rata) + final salary pension scheme

The National STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Centre was established in 2008 with funding from the Gatsby Charitable Foundation. In 2009 the Centre was awarded funding from the European Space Agency (ESA) and Department for Children, Schools and Families to establish the UK's European Space Education Resource Office (UK-ESERO) at the National STEM Centre.

We are now seeking to recruit a Manager for UK-ESERO, to play a leading role in developing UK-ESERO as a hub for space education information and resources, at the heart of a UK space education network. Candidates will have operated in a senior leadership role in either the private or public sector where influencing skills were paramount, thus bringing to the role considerable experience of developing partnerships, and monitoring activity against targets across wide networks.

Based in newly appointed facilities, co-located with the National Science Learning Centre on the campus of the University of York, you will join a committed and professional team in realising the vision of the National STEM Centre. Home working may be offered for suitable candidates. This post is offered as a two-year contract in the first instance.

For full details please download the application pack available below. For a confidential discussion about this post please telephone Jenifer Burden on 01904 328377.

The closing date for applications is 12 April 2010 with interviews taking place on 16 April 2010.
