National Champions of the F1 in Schools competition

Team Ignite, a team of three 16 and 17 year old students from Dame Alice Owens School in Potters Bar have been named as the National Champions of the F1 in Schools competition. In march, the team attended the National Finals at the Big Bang Fair which was held at the NEC in Birmingham. After months of car designing, pit display making and presentation preparing, the competition was a great success. The pit display which featured an innovative touch screen display and a modular car design impressed the judges, leading to the best score in the verbal presentation area, with the car finishing 4th.

Team Ignite are now due to attend the World Finals to be held in Abu Dhabi in the Autumn of this year. Sponsorship has always been important within the competition, but never more so than funding a week out in Abu Dhabi. The team are now looking for sponsors to fund our trip to Abu Dhabi.
