National School Sports Week 2012

World champions, Olympic gold medallists and Brit Award-winning musicians were among the stars as World Sport Day helped kick of Lloyds TSB’s National School Sport Week in London on Monday. The celebration of PE, sport and the Olympic and Paralympic values will see youngsters take part in a host of healthy activities as well as holding their own opening and closing ceremonies and torch relays. 12,000 Schools across England and Wales that will be involved in the celebration of school sport this week, with more than 4.3 million children set to join in the festivities.

Futuremorph have produced some resources to encourage more young people into STEM careers, including the sport sciences. Futuremorph have an interview with Charlotte Hartley (Commonwealth and Olympic Games hockey medalist and a graduate from Loughborough University where she achieved a first class degree in sport sciences) and have written a guide to dealing with pressure and stress for young people.
