NCETM: up to £5 000 for teachers to work together

The NCETM has announced the launch of its Collaborative Teacher Projects funding programme. They will be providing funding of up to £5 000 for teachers to work collaboratively on projects that focus on Mathematical Proficiency, with a particular focus on Arithmetic Proficiency in Primary schools.

In order to be in line with the vision of the NCETM, the project emphasis has been placed on professional development and, where relevant, innovation in mathematics teaching, rather than on the development of teaching resources.

Priority will be given to projects which involve one or more schools where mathematical attainment is below national average, or where other evidence can be provided of the need to improve mathematical attainment.

Early applications are encouraged for projects starting in the Autumn Term 2012. Further funding will be available during 2012 - 2013.

More information - including details of the application process and a downloadable application form - can be found on the Collaborative Teacher Projects page.
