Royal Institution grants available for mathematics enrichment

The Royal Institution is offering 60 grants of up to £500 for enhancement and enrichment (E&E) activities to raise the profile and enjoyment of mathematics in primary or secondary schools.

The grants are available to teachers of mathematics, choosing activities from the STEM Directories in 2011. The grants offer teachers an exciting opportunity to initiate mathematics E&E activities in their schools, and to help integrate E&E into their curricular practice. Applications from all schools are welcomed, with preference being given to state-funded schools that have not had external mathematics enrichment activities in the past two years.

As well as the grant of £500, schools successful in their bids will also receive consultancy and support on the choice of activities and on fostering related good practice. In exchange, schools will be expected to:

  • provide feedback on the delivered activity and this project
  • engage in how learning from the experience can inform and be sustained in your and your school's teaching

How to apply

Details of how to apply, grant entitlements and expectations are available by emailing the Royal Institution. The deadline for applications is Friday 16 September 2011.
