The Winston Churchill Memorial Trust is awarding Travelling Fellowships

Do you work in education with 5-19 year olds or as a Deputy Head Teacher? Would you like to visit other countries to see for yourself how their education system works? Are you in a position to disseminate the new knowledge and examples of best practice that you will observe, for the wider benefit of your community and the UK?

The Winston Churchill Memorial Trust (WCMT) is awarding Travelling Fellowships to British citizens from all walks of life to travel overseas, to bring back knowledge and best practice for the benefit of others in their UK professions and communities.

Fellows receive a travel grant to cover return and internal travelling, daily living and insurance within the countries visited. For 2012 Fellowships are for between 4 to 8 weeks.

This year's applications are focussing on anyone working to improve the educational achievement of students aged 5-19, with a particular emphasis on English, Maths and Science and Technology (this is a joint project with the Mercers' Charitable Foundation).

You can find more information, including eligibility criteria and an online application form, on the WCMT website. Applications close on 2 October 2012.
