Young Science Presenter of the Year competition

Could you be a TV presenter? Could you make science engaging, entertaining and even more exciting than it already is?

Year 10 students who answer ‘yes’ to these questions are invited to enter a competition organised by the University of Birmingham’s School of Biosciences and the Outreach Office. Science Scene is a fun and exciting new event dedicated to showcasing young talented science communicators of the future.

Teams of no more than five students can enter video clips of themselves communicating their favourite scientific topic, TV-presenter-style. There is no limit to the number of teams that can enter from each school.

There will be a screening session during the University of Birmingham Year 10 Science Festival at the University of Birmingham (April 5th 2011), at which, festival participants will watch the clips and the teams will get the chance to give a presentation about why they chose their topic, how they got started on the film, etc. Viewers will vote for which film they like best. Students will have a maximum of three minutes to present. At the end of this day the award ceremony will take place at the University of Birmingham, to which family and friends will be invited

The full entry details can be found in the pdf document which you can download to the left of this page.
